In her fourth book, "Memorial Candles – Stories after the Holocaust," Shifra Safra, nee Hoizman, unfolds the stories of the Holocaust survivors whom she encountered in the course of her educational mission in Kiev and Moscow.

As in her other books, "Before You Cross the Threshold – Jerusalem Tales of Old" (which has been translated into English), "Clever Jerusalemite" (a collection of short stories also published in English), and "The Fairytale of Peace – More Jerusalem Tales" (also translated into English), Shifra succeeds in rendering the stories to the readers in a profoundly moving and poetic language.
